Semi permanent cosmetic make-up is the art and science of implanting colour into your skin. Sometimes you will see permanent make-up referred to as ‘cosmetic tattooing’ or ‘semi-permanent make-up, as the result can fade over time. We use specialized sterile instruments to place hypoallergenic colour pigments into the deeper layer of skin. Over a 7 day period, the colour will slowly fade as it is naturally exfoliated from your skin, leaving the true colour embedded in the dermis. You will need to return one month later for a control procedure, during which the colour may be balanced if necessary.

These creams and gels are applied to the desired area before and during the procedure to assure you of the most comfortable experience possible. Some people describe the sensation as a “tingling” feeling. Most people experience some discomfort, especially for lip colour procedures. It is common to hear that there was not as much pain as was expected.

Eyebrow procedures have the least swelling. Lip colour often involves temporary swelling. You will need to let your technician know if you have a history of cold sores so your doctor can prescribe anti-viral medication before you under-go this procedure.

Permanent make-up is long-lasting. You may want to freshen up your new makeup every two to four years. The darker the colour, such as black, the longer it will stay unchanged in your skin. Natural, delicate colours are often times more vulnerable to the effects of sun, swimming and breakdown by the body.
